Amerine is Learning English
posted April 1, 2011
Amerine is 17 years old and in her first year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. Amerine lives in the Gashora sector, an impoverished area of Rwanda that was hit hard by the genocide.
Because the Rwandan schooling system recently switched to English-based classes, students need to improve their English skills in order to succeed academically. English skills are also critical in order to do well on the national exam, which determines entrance into upper secondary school. Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move to upper secondary school. But thanks to your donation, she is attending intensive English classes!
Thank you for your support. Amerine will now have the English skills that she needs to succeed–not only in school, but in her future ventures, as well!
