Jacqueline wants to be a nurse!

Jacqueline is 15 years old and in her first year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. Jacqueline lives with her brother and seven sisters in the Gashora sector, an impoverished area of Rwanda which was hit hard by the genocide.

Because the Rwandan schooling system recently switched to English-based classes, students need to improve their English skills in order to succeed academically. English skills are also critical in order to succeed on the national exam, which determines entrance into upper secondary school. Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move to upper secondary school. But thanks to your donation, Jacqueline is attending intensive English classes on Saturdays and Sundays this fall!

In her free time Jacqueline likes to pray and play football (soccer). Her favorite subject in school is English and she loves coming to class to practice her speech and learn through games. She is working hard towards her goal of becoming a nurse someday! Thank you for your support. Jacqueline will now have the English skills that she needs to succeed in school and in life!
