Aline is 15 years old and in her first year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. Aline lives with her four brothers and two sisters in the Gashora sector. It is an impoverished area of Rwanda which was hit hard by the genocide.
Because the Rwandan schooling system recently switched to English-based classes, students need to improve their English skills in order to succeed academically. English skills are also critical in order to succeed on the national exam, which determines entrance into upper secondary school. Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move to upper secondary school. But thanks to your donation, Aline is attending intensive English classes on Saturdays and Sundays this fall!
In her free time Aline likes to play volleyball. Her favorite subject in school is English and she loves coming to class to practice on the weekends. She is working hard towards her goal of becoming a nurse someday! Thank you, Mike & Suzanne, for your support. Aline will now have the English skills that she needs to succeed in school and in life!
