Dathive wants to be the President someday!

Dathive
Dear Margo,

Thanks for helping Dathive to improve her English skills. Thanks to your donation, Dathive is attending intensive English classes on Saturdays and Sundays this fall. She is in her first year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. When asked what she wants to do when she grows up, Dathive wrote that she wants to be the President of Rwanda!

For now she is focusing on studying English, her favorite subject in school. Because the Rwandan schooling system has recently switched to English-based classes, she must catch up in her English skills in order to succeed in her academics and career. In two years, she will take the English-based national exam which determines her entrance into upper secondary school.

Dathive is eagerly practicing her verbal and written language skills, so that she can excel on her exams and in life.  The singing is her favorite part of English class!

Dathive is from the Gashora sector – an impoverished area of Rwanda which was hit hard by the genocide.  Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move on to upper secondary school.  Thank you Margo for supporting Dathive’s dreams!
