Claudine is in her second year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. She enjoys studying chemistry, and she hopes to one day become a doctor. Because the Rwandan schooling system has recently switched to English-based classes, Claudine must catch up in her English skills in order to succeed in her academics and career. In one year, she will take the English-based national exam which determines her entrance into upper secondary school.
Anthony, thanks to your donation, Claudine is attending intensive English classes on Saturdays and Sundays this fall. She is eagerly practicing her verbal and written language skills, so that she can excel on her exams and in life.
Claudine is from the Gashora sector – an impoverished area of Rwanda which was hit hard by the genocide. Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move on to upper secondary school. In her free time, she likes to study, sing, and play sports such as football (soccer) and volleyball.
