Jeanne is preparing for the national exam!

P1000438
Dear Tony,

Jeanne is in her second year of lower secondary school in Rwanda. The Rwandan schooling system has recently switched to English-based classes, and Jeanne must catch up in her English skills in order to succeed in her academics and career. In one year, she will take the English-based national exam which determines her entrance into upper secondary school.

Anthony, thanks to your donation, Jeanne is attending intensive English classes on Saturday and Sundays this fall. She is eagerly practicing her verbal and written language skills, which are helping her to do better in her other classes in school.

Jeanne is from the Gashora sector – an impoverished area of Rwanda which was hit hard by the genocide. Few students from Gashora have the opportunity to move on to upper secondary school.  Jeanne enjoys studying history, and she hopes to become a teacher. Her favorite activities are praying, singing, and playing football.  She lives with four brothers, so she loves taking English classes with all girls!
